Star Dance School Ballroom & Street Dance Studio offers intensive competitive ballroom and latin dance training for children, and teens and adults, consisting of individually tailored combination of group & private dance classes in Ballroom & Latin dancing, and Street Dance (Hip Hop and Breakdance) .
For children and teenagers ages 5-17 who wish to experience the excitement, glamour, and challenge of competitive ballroom dancing, or dancesport, we have designed a unique competitive dance program, focusing on developing dancing technique, performance and competition skills, physical training, and strong team work. Our dance instructors are experienced competitive dancers who have competed in numerous ballroom and latin dancesport competititions all over the world, with many years of coaching experience in training all levels of competitive dance couples, from beginners to champions. They will tailor an individualized choreography and group/private dance lesson plan for every dancing couple they teach, and provide them with all necessary guidance to be a successful dance competitior. We keep our dance class sizes small in order to provide more personalized, individual attention to each student. Star Dance School juvenile, junior, and youth dancers regularly compete in dance competitions in Massachusetts, United States and abroad. If you interested to participate in ballroom dance competitions, you don't have to be an advanced ballroom dancer. You can start competing even as a beginner. However, you have to be a serious, motivated dancer, aware that you are a part of a team, and responsible for making sure you attend every class on a regular and timely basis. As a competitive dance student you will receive more hours of instruction per week and are required to participate in all competitions and performances, which means a certain financial responsibility, such as costume fees, private dance lessons, additional rehearsals, and traveling costs. When we place young children in our competitive dance program, we expect 100% commitment from both the students and the parents.

Pro-Am dancing partnership is an abbreviation for professional-amateur: a professional dance instructor competes with her or his amateur student as a couple, similarly to what we see in "Dancing with the Stars" show. Many dancers consider Pro-Am when they either don't have a dance partner, his/her dance partner is not willing to compete, or because dancing Pro/Am gives them an opportunity to improve their dancing much faster, and try to dance on a higher level. Most Pro-Am students eventually the right partners. Most ballroom dance or dancesport championships have Pro/Am events (or competitions). Only the amateur competitors are judged in Pro/Am dance competitions, while their professional partners are focusing on helping their students to dance and look their best on the dance floor. Professional Ballroom Dance teachers at Star Dance School are seasoned competitive dancers, champions and finalists of numerous dancesport competitions. They compete in Pro-Am, create a personalized choreography depending on their students' experience, and help their students advance their dancing technique and reach their maximum potential as competitive dancers.
